The votes have been counted!

Hi to all chaintists,

Just to inform you, all of the votes have been counted and the ECR-2014-newsflash has been recorded last Friday as planned!

So, on Monday we can publish the ECR-2014-newsflash in which we will announce the winners (competition + generated views) of this years competition! This newsflash will be published on the blog at Monday February 3th at 11:00 Brussels time, so all of you get to know their position in the final ranking at the same time!

We will show you the European Chain Reaction 2014 then too (all chain reactions combined into ONE CROSS BORDER EUROPEAN CHAIN REACTION), and it will be a real nice and long one, since you all were extremely creative this year! We hope all of you will be pleased with the outcome!

On Tuesday we will upload an overview in a votes-table, so all of you can see how many points you received from which countries. (We won’t publish this on Monday to hold the excitement. Now all of you are obliged to watch the newsflash if you want to know your place in the ranking :-) !)

"Science-terrific regards",

Michael and Dave

ECR Latvia Sērmūkši primary school

Here is our first chain reaction in this project. It was very interesting. I hope you will like it! :)
P.S. I did not take a bigger video view at the moment when the bottle falls down on the snowboard after metal cans fall down. The cotton thread was under the cans and it was connected with water bottle which was near the ceiling. When thread was free this bottle felt down on the snowboard and moved it to front. It was so fast ...

metamorphosis - The German Chain Reaction 2014

And now -in the final year of our participation in this wonderful project-
for something completely different.   :-)

An idea has rumbled about at the back of our minds right since we finished last year's edition of the ECR project: And here we are, this time with a lot of (un)real (com)motion. It's all about STOP and MOTION.

In our set of technical chain reactions you can follow a character transforming into different shapes on its way through the "worlds in boxes" which our 1st to 6th graders built during their winter holidays.
Fittingly, our video is entitled metamorphosis.

And as Andreas, the ingenious parent who coordinated all our chain reactions, likes to say:
"We certainly can't do without fire!" Hence the hot showdown.

Please enjoy this year's entry from Freie Schule Kassel:

Scotland's Chain Reaction

Hello from Scotland! Yester Primary's year 5 children worked firstly in small groups to decide how to create this year's entry. They then brought their own group work together, to create a whole class chain reaction. This is the result- and it is entirely the work of the children! We hope you enjoy it- we have already been enjoying some of the other excellent entries! Good luck to everyone!

Qworzó - Belgium presents The Belgian Chain Reaction 2014

Hi to all you scientists,

Belgium proudly presents its technical chain reaction 2014

In the last couple of weeks 26 young Einsteins have been working very hard to create this chain and we hope you will like it!

A couple of weeks ago a team of 6 children in our class managed to winn a science competition here in Flanders building the pump which you can see in the video.  This pump has been build by the students under the guidance of a skilfull mom and dad. In June they will compete with this pump against pupils from The Netherlands in an international competition!

If you only have half as much fun watching this chain reaction as we had while building it, then it will surely will be a lot of fun for you to watch!

We look forward to watching all your chains appear to the blog! We want to wish you the best of luck with the voting in a couple of weeks and we look forward to reading your comments!

We would like it very much if you would share our video on the internet!

Kind regards,

The children in year 6 at Qworzó, Merksplas, Belgium

The Romanian Chain Reaction 2014.

Hello from Romania. Good luck to all participants!

Friday, 27 December 2013

Hello dear friends, we are happy to take part in this project. Warm Greetings from darken Batumi. We are late with our video, cause all the region- Adjara- was cut down from the civilization. We did not have electricity and still suffer from it. Our video is very short and not professionally done and we hope to improve ourselves
Our kids like the project so much, that they decided to do the video again.

Best wishes from Georgia
