Belgium proudly presents its technical chain reaction 2014!
In the last couple of weeks 26 young Einsteins have been working very hard to create this chain and we hope you will like it!
A couple of weeks ago a team of 6 children in our class managed to winn a science competition here in Flanders building the pump which you can see in the video. This pump has been build by the students under the guidance of a skilfull mom and dad. In June they will compete with this pump against pupils from The Netherlands in an international competition!
If you only have half as much fun watching this chain reaction as we had while building it, then it will surely will be a lot of fun for you to watch!
We look forward to watching all your chains appear to the blog! We want to wish you the best of luck with the voting in a couple of weeks and we look forward to reading your comments!
We would like it very much if you would share our video on the internet!
Kind regards,

Une réaction en chaîne très impressionnante car on voit qu'elle est très précise.
ReplyDeleteLes élèves avaient envie de manger du pop corn en regardant votre vidéo car on avait l'impression d'être au cinéma.
On va attendre avec impatience votre long métrage.
Une question concernant la pompe à eau : l'avez vous construite vous même et pouvez vous nous expliquer comment elle fonctionne.
Encore un grand BRAVO !!!!

DeletePlease answer these questions for us as well.
Hi Steffen and Olivier,
DeleteThe pupils in my class were asked if they would like to compete in a science competition. In this science competition the children had to think of a way to pump water from one container into another one which is standing 60 centimeters higher.
One of the children came up with the idea of making a large injection needle and that is exactly what is is. Accept that they made it with a handle so they can suck up the water on one side and release it into the other container. The children were lucky because one of the children in my class lives on a farm and with an old piston from a milking machine and some tubes they made this machine.
The children were one of the 4 best teams in 105 contestants and now they qualified for the international final (Flanders - The Netherlands) on June 5th 2014 in Arnhem (the Netherlands) so we look forward to that very much!!!
We considered the pump was too good, not to use it in the chain reaction of this year!
If you want to read the newspaper article about the children winning the national final in the Ministry of Eductaion (Brussels), then please have a look here: http://linguareceptiva.wordpress.com/2013/12/03/qworzo-in-de-krant/
